Today students as young as 8 walked out of school to protest Governor Corbett’s education cuts from the past 2 years. The district was not happy.
This article claims the district will get more money is Corbett destroys the pension system. Like the feeble amount of money he’s giving the city, this would provide no short term help for education, but also lead to more experienced teachers leaving the field.
The answer to austerity is NEVER more austerity. It’s time for districts around the state to stop opposing students expressing their first amendment and start working with them to defeat Corbett’s cut gut and punish agenda.
